In this case "I love your country and love to visit" is a common PR-phrase attibuted to visiting celebrities world over. Everyone should know that it means nothing.
The surprise here isn't that Israel lies (pleasantries aren't lies), but that the genocide has been succesfully politisised enough that the pleasantry can't be used without making a statement.

@iju@mastodon.social If it's attributing words from a person, who hasn't actually said anything of the sort, it absolutely IS lies. The "cosying up" strategy, the "faking alliances" strategy, is typical strategy for israel, and it's well done to Malkovich for calling that bullsh!t out and boycotting them.
