Almost done with a pile of film processing.
I went down to my niece's place in York, PA a couple of weeks ago to attend a birthday party for her four-year-old son. Genuine Americana.
One: Balloons now mark the location of birthday parties. The one on top is supposed to represent what I would call a "steam shovel" (yes, I really am that old), which of course is not what they are called nowadays. Excavator, maybe?

Two: My brother-in-law, Rick, and his dog, Stella, hang out with my wife before the party begins. Rick is deep into Alzheimer's, and it was a blessing to see him, probably for the last time, with some of his personality still intact. Terrific guy, really going to miss him.
