Just watched Naomi Klein take Piers Morgan apart. The numbskull's opening gambit is that to use the word fascist is to belittle the victims of "real" fascism, which in his world means something that looks exactly like Hitler. Now Klein has been doing this for a long time. All those years that Morgan was test driving luxury autos on Top Gear and opining on the sound of the door closing and which had the quietest highway ride, she was doing political and social analysis. His rhetorical technique is straight up childish and naive. So she takes that apart completely. And then towards the end, after piously chiding Klein for her misuse of the word, he goes ahead and belittles all those Hitler victims himself by talking about "deep left fascism," which is not even a thing. She stays classy by talking about the actual Bad History of the left: Stalin, Mao, Cultural Revolution, etc, and uses the correct terms for them, as these are left wing atrocities that we leftists must reckon with. And in so doing, reveals to any thinking person just how little of a grasp Morgan has, on history, on politics, on anything. It's just beautiful. Good lord, do I want to have dinner at the Klein/Lewis residence.
