Still, I’m having a hard time letting go of the Apple Watch. In part because it has traveled in so many places with me, in part because it reminds me of the time when the idea of locking myself to Apple ecosystem did not seem as bad as it is now, even if it was already far along the downslope at the point this watch came out. It was before seeing Tim Cook donate money to Trump and stand behind him at his second inauguration.

@marcink@stolat.town And let's not forget, this thing screams 'style' (to me, anyway)

@marcink@stolat.town @rysiek@mstdn.social I did the same thing recently: I had Apple Watches from the series “0” and switched to a basic (but admittedly fancy) Seiko. It does everything I actually use the Apple Watch for regularly: it can tell the time and date, and it can run a stopwatch and countdown timer. I feel much freer, knowing that I can’t get distracted by notifications from looking at my watch.

@marcink@stolat.town Hey Gshock fan here. There is a lot of value in these seemingly simple watches. Apple Watch is not even close to the durability and longevity you can get out of a simple Casio.
