@ehashman@cloudisland.nz I need to figure out the steps to import/compare with what I have in Apple passwords. And what stuff doesn’t import. Starting points for me/others. How much of https://1password.com/compare/apple-passwords-vs-1password is still true, or applies to me. https://9to5mac.com/2026/02/25/heres-how-to-switch-from-1password-to-apple-passwords/ seems simple: Export your passwords from 1Password Open and unlock the 1Password app on your Mac From the menubar, File > Export and select the account you want to export Enter your account password When asked to choose a format, choose CSV and select Export Data Choose where you want to export your 1Password data and select open Import your passwords into Apple Passwords Open the Passwords app and authenticate From the menubar, File > Import passwords from file Select the CSV file Securely delete the CSV file

@becomingwisest@hachyderm.io At least as far as the non-password stuff goes (secure notes, documents, credit cards, license keys, etc.), if you're in the Apple ecosystem I saw folks recommending Uplock back in February when they announced they were raising prices by 33%. I'm also given to understand that 1Password doesn't have a means for exporting/transferring passkeys, so you'll need to keep it around long enough to set any of those up from scratch. Otherwise, the password export process worked fine, and on the Mac I think you can even do it without having to export to CSV. I'm not at my Mac right now to be able to recall exactly how that process works, though, and it's been a few months since I did it myself.

@becomingwisest@hachyderm.io @ehashman@cloudisland.nz I did this conversion a few months ago. There are some things different about the way Apple thinks about passwords, so there's stuff to get used to. The process of letting Apple fill the password is clunky. It will keep the url of the site; but you don't see that in the browser extension, so you have two steps where 1P had one. Apple I think won't let you have two different urls on the same site, it trims off all the subfolder stuff.
