@becomingwisest@hachyderm.io @ehashman@cloudisland.nz I did this conversion a few months ago. There are some things different about the way Apple thinks about passwords, so there's stuff to get used to. The process of letting Apple fill the password is clunky. It will keep the url of the site; but you don't see that in the browser extension, so you have two steps where 1P had one. Apple I think won't let you have two different urls on the same site, it trims off all the subfolder stuff.

@becomingwisest@hachyderm.io @ehashman@cloudisland.nz Apple will sometimes ask if you want to update the password after you've successfully used a password. Maybe there's something about that I'm not understanding. Apple's program synchronizes across your devices and family shares. But it takes an unreal amount of time. I changed my work password last week and it took more than 24 hours for the change to propagate fully.

@becomingwisest@hachyderm.io @ehashman@cloudisland.nz (Two steps: first open the Passwords app, get the url for the site; open it in your browser; then you might have to open the password extension (Apple wants a 6 digit code) before it will auto-fill).)

@becomingwisest@hachyderm.io @ehashman@cloudisland.nz Apple insists on locking the app on a very short interval (a couple of minutes I think) and I haven't found a way to lengthen it. This is annoying if I'm fiddling with my Nextcloud server and have to sudo with the password fairly frequently.
