@chadmccullough@mastodon.bsd.cafe @FreeBSDFoundation@mastodon.social This has nothing to do with the FreeBSD Foundation. The FreeBSD Project is not run by the Foundation, the Foundation exists to provide support to the project. The FreeBSD Project is run by the Core Team, a group that is elected by committers (anyone who has committed code to any of the source, documentation, or ports repositories in the last year). It is their responsibility to define a policy. They have delegated this to a committee that was assembled to evaluate the goals, informed by a survey that I would use as a case study on manufactured consent if I ever have to teach a course on survey design.

@chadmccullough@mastodon.bsd.cafe @FreeBSDFoundation@mastodon.social Agreed, they need to make a decision. I need to know if I need to start making an exit strategy or not. I really hope they make the right call, it's an amazing project and it would be a shame to watch it turn to shit because of the current hype cycle.
