@chadmccullough@mastodon.bsd.cafe @FreeBSDFoundation@mastodon.social This has nothing to do with the FreeBSD Foundation. The FreeBSD Project is not run by the Foundation, the Foundation exists to provide support to the project. The FreeBSD Project is run by the Core Team, a group that is elected by committers (anyone who has committed code to any of the source, documentation, or ports repositories in the last year). It is their responsibility to define a policy. They have delegated this to a committee that was assembled to evaluate the goals, informed by a survey that I would use as a case study on manufactured consent if I ever have to teach a course on survey design.

  • @david_chisnall@infosec.exchange Yes, I know this, but FreeBSD, the project, doesn't have a Fediverse presence, as far as I know, and the FreeBSD Foundation posts a lot about the project. I was trying to put a bug in some ears that are close to the project. If I tag the FreeBSD Foundation, surely there are people on the actual project that might see it. @FreeBSDFoundation@mastodon.social
