Our short cruise on Cayuga Lake continues. The lake is quite a substantial body of water, almost 39 miles (63 km) long and 435 feet (133 meters) deep at its deepest point, with over 95 miles (153 km) of shoreline. If the Teal kept going to the top of the lake, it could either turn right to go to the Atlantic Ocean or turn left to travel down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.
One: Taking a plankton sample. The Teal is also a research vessel.
