There’s an old story about a child picking up starfish that have washed up on the beach and putting them back in the ocean. A passerby points out this won’t matter, because there are thousands of them. The kid holds one up and says, “Well, it matters to this one.”
I grow tired of arguing with people on the internet who won’t save any starfish if we can’t save them all. Who willfully conflate “This won’t solve everything” with “This changes nothing.”
(This post is not actually about starfish.)

The wonders of children I became the wild pet rescuer for my next door neighbours 11 year old after she found an injured pigeon in the garden. Then an injured hedgehog that had been strimmered while Hibernating. The vet said they were sttrimmer injures. we need to ban strimmers. A pigeon in the high street, another hedgehog doing circles on the pavement. she made little beds, fed them, removed hedgehog ticks with a tick tool and they survived. It was simply I want to save that one.

@maxleibman@beige.party It is like rainworm and snails picking from the road after rainshowers. Even we can't safe all. At least we can safe some.
