I know many indies who are slowly making their way through. For most it is a side projec they work on the evenings and pour their souls into. It is the need to create and write the stories that fulfill their minds.
Marketing is hard, hell I know that super well, but one should keep in mind that the stories matter because they come from you.
Also, you can pay real artists to make you art that promotes your writing. You can talk about your stories and hype them up.

@cyris@troet.cafe @Lana@beige.party I have picked up books because people had a short snippet of it available to me. People have picked up my books because I talked about them (text only) and made them interested. It is another skill a person can learn and we all start by being terrible at it. (: But we artists can support each other, grow, and enjoy the process of creation collectively. Don't let AI steal that from you.
