Activism is actually about behind the scenes work. The Lula victory makes me think of all the organisers who must have worked their arses off to get this idea across the line. Activism is not just the rally, it is also everything before and after. Think of the activists and organisers in these next few days, who are doing their best every day. We take a lot for granted here in Australia, where voting is compulsory. Please get out and vote. #activism #socialism #lula #brasil #brazil

@dirtycommo@anticapitalist.party @TerryHancock@realsocial.life It was more than getting out and voting It was weeks of mass organized demonstrations, every single day, with the streets full of people, everywhere in the country, with a central Whatsapp channel and organized livestreams to get people to the streets, with targeted messaging, and changing the tone from “we want to have a conversation with the right” to “these people are CRIMINALS and here are their CRIMES if you vote for them you’re an accomplice” It’s more than “go out and vote” - it’s stop being so chronically online and get the fuck out of the house

@dirtycommo@anticapitalist.party Oh my god. You were doing perfect. Why did you end such nice insightful thoughts with the phrase 'Please get out and vote' instead of the logical conclusion of everything you said which is 'get out and organize'? It's like ending Hey Jude with an outro from Nicki Minaj.
