Today is 2 years from #Helene wreaking havoc on our area of western North Carolina, hundreds of miles away from where it came ashore, and causing devastating flooding and mudslides, taking lives and homes.
This year mostly what we've had is drought. All those trees down from the storm and no rain are also not a good recipe.
I'm not allowed to talk about more water needed today, however.
Please visit #Asheville if you have any interest, our area could use the boost.

And here's a video of some of the changes, although they whip past the photos too fast. A lot of progress, but many people are still struggling. https://avlwatchdog.org/tropical-storm-helene-two-years-later/ #Asheville #Helene #Recovery

@czarbucks@m.ai6yr.org I hope that the feelings of devastation are fading and that things are on the path to long-term recovery now.

@czarbucks@m.ai6yr.org Is this area part of the Blue Mountains? That's such a lovely view.
