ENDING FAT INSTABILITY For the first time in a long, long life, I feel stable. It is boring sometimes. There is less drama, less urgency, less emotional weather pretending to be meaning. But in a million years, I would not go back. I would not go back to the fat instability of mind and body. Six years of fasting have made the body lighter. A year and a half of breathwork has made the mind quiet. Routine has made the days trustworthy. There is coffee in hand, a warm fire, Pete nearby, the dogs moving through the morning, and a body that no longer feels like an emergency waiting to happen. None of this is glamorous.
