"The Mac's primary input methods remain keyboard & mouse, which is reflected in macOS's UI size and density. Touch is a secondary input for macOS, and therefore has little impact on how macOS looks"
"All of macOS's framework controls have been updated to use this new touch target [36pt], but notice it's invisible: the controls haven't changed size, and therefore don't require a new layout"
"Avoid redesigning your app just to support touch"
Ok, this is somewhat reassuring…

Also, apparently the system menu (not sure about other in-app menus?) shows up with a bigger padding between items when opened with touch, and a smaller one when opened with a cursor: #Mac #macOS #MacDev

@mackuba@martianbase.net so is this a one off gimmick? Or they just didn’t have time to design two versions of ui?
