@PapyrusBrigade@cosocial.ca do you have a dehydrator or do you bake the leather?

Results of the first night of cherry baking: I made a sour cherry frangipane using a recipe from "The Elements of Baking". Fabulous book, for adapting baked goods to be dairy-, egg-, and/or gluten-free. The pie is really good, except I regret making my condensed milk from soy instead of coconut. Cherry-banana fruit leather tastes awesome, with a hint of caramelised banana flavour. And I dried some chunks of banana and tossed with citric acid to get sweet/sour banana snack.

@PapyrusBrigade@cosocial.ca @crabbypup@cosocial.ca Cherry frangipane sounds fabulous. (I’m a big fan of Bakewell tarts, which are basically raspberry frangipane.)

@PapyrusBrigade@cosocial.ca Even as a full-ass adult I am ridiculously spoiled: my mother will freeze some of that sour cherry crop for a lattice pie when I visit for Christmas. There's nothing in the world like Ontario sour cherries! 🍒
