If so, this gateway led into a walled garden area (and may have included an orchard) which stretched out along the brow of the hill, and the outline of the garden is preserved by the paths within the park.
However, it's also possible that this gate post was associated with the 1938 Empire Exhibition which was held in the park.

@thisismyglasgow@mastodon.scot I used to play up there with my pals when I was a youngster and there were a few bits and bobs lying around that might have been from a big house, bits of stone etc.
