I think it’s because what defeated them was violence and “violence is bad”. Because the problem of nazism definitely could’ve been solved diplomatically… >.>

100%. And on a related note, all of the right wing people who are proud of the US’ wartime accomplishments (especially WWII) seem to forget why the US was so good at it. Science and Engineering are the main reasons (okay, scale and being far from a home front [no disrespect Pearl Harbor] top) that the US was so impactful. It’s wild that a lot of the people who are particularly proud of developing a devastating bomb are the same people who hate science funding and science itself.
