@argv_minus_one@mastodon.sdf.org Best research the Gaza Verified project yourself before you take what Tempest@burningboard.net says at face value. That project was started precisely so that people could distinguish between scammers and genuine people in need. This guy just has a bee in his bonnet about them and will put his foot down when anybody points out that he is wrong. @HailsandAles@metalhead.club

@argv_minus_one@mastodon.sdf.org No, the objective was to close out the account from public view to end the social outcry, and Mastodon offers only one option for that: suspension. Once your account is suspended, you cannot relocate. You can download your posts without any way to import them anywhere, and you can download your lists (who you follow, for example), but it's basically game over for you. You've got to start over. I'm sure someone would call that a feature, but I would call it an exploit within the decentralized network. Experience enough people dogpiling you in bad faith and you're screwed. I did experience some admins/mods that provided me time. But a good admin/mod's actions can then later be canceled out by the next admin/mod. That is why I see this as an exploit within the Fediverse. @HailsandAles@metalhead.club

@Tempest@burningboard.net Also, how did that profile attract that much drama? I've seen far more inflammatory Israel/Palestine-related rhetoric than that around here, and as far as I know, they weren't all chased off their servers by an angry mob. @HailsandAles@metalhead.club
