@argv_minus_one@mastodon.sdf.org No, the objective was to close out the account from public view to end the social outcry, and Mastodon offers only one option for that: suspension. Once your account is suspended, you cannot relocate. You can download your posts without any way to import them anywhere, and you can download your lists (who you follow, for example), but it's basically game over for you. You've got to start over. I'm sure someone would call that a feature, but I would call it an exploit within the decentralized network. Experience enough people dogpiling you in bad faith and you're screwed. I did experience some admins/mods that provided me time. But a good admin/mod's actions can then later be canceled out by the next admin/mod. That is why I see this as an exploit within the Fediverse. @HailsandAles@metalhead.club

  • @Tempest@burningboard.net I see. Yes, that is a serious problem. That suspension removes the account's followers immediately and permanently is wildly excessive. https://docs.joinmastodon.org/admin/moderation/#suspend-user Does any other Fedi software besides Mastodon handle this better? @HailsandAles@metalhead.club
