Two very small studies, one with 8 adults and one with 14 children, found that 30 minutes after drinking pure cranberry juice, dental plaque bacteria regrowth and acid production was reduced by 44 and 33 percent, respectively. This is consistent with an inverse relationship between cranberry juice consumption and UTIs, and may be due to proanthocyanidins.
