@woodooprod@c.im I started my company by writing a visual text editor program for CP/M, which I called PolyVUE. As I recall, a few hundred copies were sold, mostly through Lifeboat Associates, a mail order software distribution company. I still have a few PolyVUE manuals I kept as souvenirs. I met Gary Kildall several times at industry events, and also his wife Dorothy who helped run Digital Research in the early days. It was a small community in those days, but we were all excited about the new world we were building. (Of course no one anticipated spam, phishing and crypto!)

@woodooprod@c.im If I recall correctly, the hope was that CP/M would provide the basis for interconvertability between different PC operating systems: IBM PC/ Apple and even Commodore.
