During an interview, a #Japanese expert noted that it was a major shock to the economy when #Sharp was acquired by a #Chinese company.
Except, it wasn't Chinese. It was #taiwanese From their perspective, it didn't matter - but from my perspective, it's dramatically different.

@ncoca@social.coop I was watching something from the Korea Society a few weeks ago talking about Taiwan. The person being interviewed noted that there's deep expertise about China in Korea, but they lack a comparable expertise about Taiwan. I'm a little disturbed that Japan seems to have a similar problem.
