@Laukidh@infosec.exchange @MarkHoltom@mastodonapp.uk that's not what my question is about. My question is : does the "leading cause of death" mean "leading ABOVE child deaths caused by diseases in the rest of the world" Because there are literally millions of children dying from diseases every year. And as much as what's happening in Gaza is atrocious, I don't think the deaths of Palestinian children, or even the total number of Palestinians, are in millions. (Which doesn't make it less bad just. Not an overall leading cause of death in the world). So, the numbers HAVE to be excluding deaths by diseases, at least. Or maybe consider separate diseases ? But like .. tuberculosis alone is responsible for 150 000 to 250 000 children deaths every year... Maybe there are other parameters, I don't know. That's precisely why I'm asking : I don't know ! I just want to know the sources to the claim, understand what it's based on.
