@mallory@hachyderm.io @Mehrad@fosstodon.org The simplicity of being able to communicate with a cheap, low-powered, portable radio and a simple paddle cannot be overstated. Yes, digital modes like FT8 are technically superior, but require bulkier hardware. The mini go bag with a QRP radio, wire antenna, and paddle is a thing of beauty. Disclaimer: I am speaking from observation, not experience.
