Having planned a few days away, my wife now has pneumonia and is in hospital. I'm in the holiday cottage with Florrie (dog). Not great, but she's getting the care she needs and I'm hoping she'll be out tomorrow. I expect though that she'll be in there the whole holiday. But, she's getting great care from a very stressed and under resourced NHS. The best money I ever spent was to pay the taxes that pay for this. She says the nurses are wonderful and always busy. However, the 'lady' in the next bed is of a different mind. I'll paste part of her WhatsApp message below. ----- The woman in the bed next to me is probably the rudest person I’ve ever come across, in my life. I’m guessing she’s a Daily Mail reading, Reform voter, judging by her attitude. She’s probably horrified that “those people” are treating her. She literally shouts NURSE across the ward, every time she wants something, which is often & despite having a call button to press. She also tells the staff to adjust her bed, despite having a remote control, literally beside her. She’s just told a Nurse to take her dentures out for her and has never once said please, or thank you ☹️ The staff are all so polite & lovely. I don’t know how they do it. I’d have told her to fuck off, by now 🤣 ------- Followed by this a little later. ------- OMG. She just said thank you - to the white Doctor 🤯 ------- I don't even know what hashtags to use. #racist #privileged #tosspot?
