@PolyWolf@social.treehouse.systems Does Apple's built-in hardware diagnostics tool still work? If you hold Alt+D at power on, it will boot the diagnostics over the internet, which should work even if there's no macOS on the disk (or the disk is dead).

@dgelessus@mastodon.social the tool starts up! unfortunately it reports "no issues found", and the linux drive still fails to boot full reinstall it is!
