Being an angry puritan mob, they burn him at the stake while the brunette woman screams. As he immolates, evil goatee man curses them and we learn this terrible village is called Arkham so we're doing a lovecraft thing today.

We then flash forward to the future, which is still the past, but the difference is the hats are taller and less triangular. It looks like the same actors are playing different people. Anyway, a dude is buying the haunted house place in Arkham, which has a tavern called "The Burning Man" but is in new england and not the desert. #monsterdon
