@roadskater@mastodon.social Clerk often bags here but I guess I hit a more heavily staffed time. I try to use the stiff free-standing bags I got from this store, and that seems to allow for more topological planning. When the bagger is up to it. (I am very judgmental about egg placement!)

@faerye@pie.gd May depend on the grocery. I can't recall the last time I saw a separate bagger at any grocery near where I live in NYC. But when I visit up-state, there's usually a HS kid bagging. Sometimes a HS kid clerking the register, too, and they have to call for a supervisor if you're buying beer. Egg placement is of course the big one.
