@mjdxp@labyrinth.zone I mean yea. It probably has to do with many of us grew up being subjects of misogyny rather than benefiting from patriarchy. Also being trans, we understand otherwise being marginalized so it’s a different perspective on life. Cis hetero white guys are used to being in power and benefitting from patriarchy. Just my thoughts. Edit: at the end of the day we just need to hold men accountable rather than just saying they are inherently evil or bad because of hormones or anything else.

@mjdxp@labyrinth.zone @Melezioh@mstdn.games There's definitely a lot of pressure on trans men to conform once we come out, because our masculinity is held up to closer scrutiny, but most of us are trying to do better

@Melezioh@mstdn.games People need to stop attacking people and saying that people are shitty because they are men. People are shitty, because they are shitty people and they choose to behave and shitty ways towards others. It actually has very little to do with being a man, as evident by the radfems who attack men (cis and trans alike) and NonBinary people and claim they're evil based on their gender. Don't attack people for something that they can't control. Call them out on something that they can, their behavior. People can change their behavior, they can learn to do better, they can be motivated to do better. They can't be motivated to change their gender identity.

@Melezioh@mstdn.games I don't think we get to police how women harmed by men - individuals and collectively - get to talk about it. Saying 'men suck' in a patriarchy does no significant harm. If people want to drink from their male tears mugs, let them. It's a response to oppression, a way to cope. If you don't suck then it ain't about you, keep not sucking. Your list is a good one. But it's situation dependent and yeah, I don't fancy having people tell us what we can't say about the harms a misogynistic society does. (also who says "testosterone is evil"?? That's... Weird, given cis women have it too among other reasons)

@Melezioh@mstdn.games I read that, I get that you have experience of misogyny too. I'm not agreeing that a hormone is evil or men are irredeemable based on genetics or whatever. Obviously that's nonsense. I'm saying we should not police women's (any of them) responses to misogyny when it's harmless fluff like 'men suck and can get in the bin'. You just need to be comfortable with it because it's not about you. If trans people who have been harmed by society that privileges being cis make a derogatory comment about cis people I'm going to let it slide for the same reasons.
