Once upon a time a man heard voices in his head telling him to take his first child to the top of a mountain and kill it. So, the man proceeded to do so. Upon arriving the voice then told him not to kill his child. So he stopped. And other people were like, "This guy has it going on. We're with him!" And that's basically the origin story as to why the Middle East is farked up still.
