@juergen_hubert@mementomori.social I'm actually currently somewhat grappling with this scenario and can't decide which way to go.
main character finds out that she's a changeling—a fairy exchanged when an infant for a mortal infant—and is being pulled into the world of the fey as an adult. She will meet her ... let's call it "twin sister", who's had a good life among the fey (the changeling myths I'm drawing from have the mortal child being treated the same by the fey parents as the changeling one is by the mortals, and main character's parents treated her quite well, so ...). But now I need to decide ... what "status" does she have among fey creatures (or, in particular, what status does her fey parent(s) have).
Unlikely to be the equivalent of a peasant ... but I also don't particularly want her to find out that she is truly the daughter of the fey queen.

@melindrea@beige.party @juergen_hubert@mementomori.social I think to determine that one has to think about fey society. They may not have the same roles as humans do, i.e. do they need peasants? Do they need craftspeople? Do they need warriors? And then you can pick something that would be mundane to the fey but it could still be something special for a human(-raised)?
