so far i've helped save four lives using First Aid and CPR knowledge. the first instance was a diabetic emergency. the second and third were overdose emergencies. the fourth was a stabbing emergency. the fact that they all survived is the best thing ever. Maximum credit to the firefighters and paramedics and hospital nurses and doctors in the chain of care whose knowledges far exceeded mine!

btw did you notice that the first aid ⛑️ emoji has a white cross on a red helmet, rather than the other way around? that's not a Swiss style mistake. the reason is that the Red Cross symbol on a white background is an *internationally protected symbol*, as are the Red Crescent and the Red Crystal/Diamond symbols on a white background. https://www.icrc.org/en/our-emblems

the diabetic emergency case was quite an effort. it started with someone banging on my door urgently and repeatedly late on a Sunday night. at first, i thought it was the creepy coworker who had been stalking me, which set my heart and brain racing. then i dared to peek through the door peephole. it was actually an elderly man and woman couple looking very worried. so i took a deep breath and opened the door. 1/
