Fun problem with my MacBook Air Even though I've got my power adaptor plugged in, and the Mac acknowledges that the power adaptor is plugged in, it doesn't charge the battery I happened to take this photo when the battery was at 94%, but it also happens when the battery is at, say, 30% Anyone got any guesses?

@kims@mas.to if you’re using a MagSafe cable, disconnect it and flip the connector upside down.

@kims@mas.to @patrickhadfield@mastodon.scot After market cable? Charging cables from Apple have a chip in the plug and the device knows when a cable is genuine (or approved) Apple, or affordable after market. In the EU officially they’re not allowed to make after market stop working, but well, who’s checking? 🤷🏻‍♂️

@kims@mas.to Even batteries have chips and electronics in them now, and you might have a dodgy one that isn't letting the battery charge.
