The French resistance was a small minority of people, and a lot of them were actually "in the system", trying to build change with smaller steps, with the few power they had.
We're all engineers, building the web, and so far, the people that refuse to join the AI hype are a tiny niche amount of people, and like you say @mnapoli@phpc.social : "it's either this or changing jobs". And I know some people that changed jobs, and left tech, because too hard.

@heiglandreas@phpc.social @mnapoli@phpc.social @asgrim@phpc.social @DaveLiddament@phpc.social @m1ke@phpc.social Those in charge have always used propaganda and systemic oppression to enforce exploitation on the masses, and they have always tried to create a balance that made sure people had "enough to live and work", but "not enough to rebel". Either materially or mentally. That's why dictatorships always fail at some point: whenever oppression is too harsh, people will rebel. Capitalism finds a balance that benefits the elites so masses don't fight.
