I could really have done much better without dealing with a pompous, mildly anglophone chauvinist reviewer this week and their supposedly helpful but contempt-dripping, passive-aggressive report.

Basically, this person is reviewing the paper, which is written for a wider audience and submitted to a multidisciplinary journal, as if it were to be read exclusively by their own tiny community.
