which is why we're not allowed to take our bikes in the train during rush hour in the Netherlands I suppose. But even outside of rush hour bike space can be limited.
It is a tough one - while it scales pretty poorly, I love the freedom to have the bike in the train. I can use it to bike one way and then take public transport back, or if I need something nicer than an OV-fiets on-site (they're not brilliant for 5km+ travel).

@golenes@mastodon.online @Alper_Celik@infosec.exchange @notjustbikes@social.notjustbikes.com @danbrotherston@types.pl @BicycleDutch@mastodon.social We need to extend this ”no bikes during rush hour on trains” to ”no cars during rush hour on roads”.

@golenes@mastodon.online @notjustbikes@social.notjustbikes.com @BicycleDutch@mastodon.social Yes, this was not during rush hour...or at least didn't start during rush hour... But yeah, it would be nice if it was working well, but it certainly isn't. And I do think part of the blame is on NS/politicians for trying to maximize utilization of the trains. Having more trains even if they're running at a lower capacity would just be better in every way.
