@meganL@mas.to @ascentale@sfba.social @bikenite@fedigroups.social I was just thinking, a Smart fortwo is 1510 mm wide (about 59.4 in), and the minimum ADA clearance to two passing wheelchairs is 60" (1524 mm). So, if you make an access point no narrower than 60", it's unlikely that any regular automobile driver is going to attempt it, but it should clear most quad- and tricycles, although something like a Citroën Ami (EU "quadricycle" micro car, 1390 mm wide, limited to 45 kmh/28 mph) would technically fit.

@gcvsa@mstdn.plus @ascentale@sfba.social @bikenite@fedigroups.social I think it's one of those things where you can cut out most, but not all, motor vehicles. Like, they're probably also trying to keep out motorcycles. But I would rather see enforcement for when road motor vehicle (don't have a good phrase for what I mean here, but "motor vehicle" seems inadequate now since e-cycles have electric motors) drivers/riders blow a prohibition than disabled riders of sustainable e-cycles and users of mobility aids unable to enjoy parks and trails due to narrow gaps and chicanes. #BikeNite
