If you're like me, and know nothing about Cryptography, and are wondering what to do about the Current Situation (or just have noticed something about the number 4 all over the place), this is the best explanation I've seen:

@marsiposa@social.coop @echosystemname@goto.fully-synthetic.net @cthulku@zeroes.ca I just posted about this elsewhere - a private key is usually a very, very big number — making it insanely difficult to guess - imagine a page of paper, full of zero… Except the third-last digit. That would be a one. That was their super secret code protecting everyone’s data.
