I'm considering going to a local #Emacs meetup later this month, but first I need to get a custom shirt printed to read "I don't use Org Mode. And when I say I don't use Org Mode, I do not mean 'I've never heard of Org Mode: please start in on a lecture about all the things you love about Org Mode,' nor do I mean 'I've heard of Org Mode but never tried it: please launch into a lengthy speech about how rearranging your entire workflow/life around Org Mode is central to your whole personality.'"

    (That's the toned-down version.)

@n8@mastodon.social As a former emacs and org-mode user, I can understand how such defensive measures could very well be necessary. You could consider "I Will Piledrive You If You Mention Org-Mode Again", a slightly sanitized tribute to Ludicity's hilarious blog of a very similar name. In any event, best of luck.

@n8@mastodon.social Funnily enough, after going all in on org mode since 2010 or thereabouts, I am using it less and less as time goes on. I still do all of my writing (prose) in org mode as it's an excellent markup language, especially exporting to LaTeX. And I still love using the tables as spreadsheets, much better than any other spreadsheet tool I have ever used. However, I am using the project management aspects very little now. The Emacs calendar and diary are meeting most of my (somewhat reduced due to retirement) needs these days. #Emacs

@n8@mastodon.social Have you considered org-mode's export-to-shirt-template.el? Available on Github, with contributions from someone called Claude.
