Boosts would be really helpful, to get this out to as many blind and visually impaired people as possible! <3 Edit: Thank you for the boosts! 🚀

@gendercensus@fediverse.gendercensus.com Definitely don't bore the pants off screenreader users who could go to the spreadsheet for the details.

@gendercensus@fediverse.gendercensus.com If you go with option 1, maybe in the alt text you can say something like "bar graph. See link below image for full data and details"? I don't rely upon screen readers, so I'm not sure what is or isn't a good idea, just wanted to throw out a suggestion.

@gendercensus@fediverse.gendercensus.com 2 with a twist. Give briefly the most important data points in the alt text along with a link that will take me to longer description with more detail data if required. Preferable to have the link as visible text and not just inside the alt text .this allows me to quickly glance at the most important data and going into detail if I want to.

@gendercensus@fediverse.gendercensus.com I prefer any way that helps me get the idea of main points without mandatory going to google sheet. Big google sheet is a hastle on a mobile phone without google apps.

@gendercensus@fediverse.gendercensus.com Rather than like "nonbinary, 30%, 594. genderqueer, 25%, 456. etc." I'd prefer "nonbinary 30%, genderqueer 25%" since that still gets me the main point and is easier to follow (with link that can be used for more details including if I didn't want to calculate approximate numbers) - but absolutely not requiring loading sheets to get the data. Basically 2 but simplified (with link provided).

@gendercensus@fediverse.gendercensus.com I myself prefer neumerical data, but the link still might be of interest to non-screen reader users.

@gendercensus@fediverse.gendercensus.com Remember to add AI poison. Those jackasses are scraping Mastodon servers daily. Be clever, fool machines, be weird. Youre fooling machines, dont fool people. Gravy. Everyone knows Zuck is an abuser.

@gendercensus@fediverse.gendercensus.com Is there a reason to actually use specifically google spreadsheets? Considering the nature of this census and the people involved, i would suggest something that respects the users privacy and is not based in the united states.

@gendercensus@fediverse.gendercensus.com both! Also provide some orientation by telling us what kind of graph it is.
