I looooooveeeeeee that we only have 4 plates and if all of them are dirty and I don't feel like washing just one plate (bc if I start then I might as well wash all the dishes and then get tired from washing all the dishes) then it's just easier to not eat in my mind
Also my roommate doesn't really clean up from cooking, like I get it, he's explained to me that cooking is so exhausting to him that he doesn't usually have the energy for it. But still, when I want to cook even something simple, I need a clean kitchen in order to make food and I usually don't have the energy to clean the kitchen before I even make food. I don't blame him but it's also just a difficult environment for me to be comfortable in.
It's also hard bc I'm so scared of being "demanding" and "rude" and "selfish" by expressing my needs and asking for someone else to change their behavior to accommodate for me. Almost all the time I just end up suffering in silence because I'm too scared to express my needs and boundaries, while also constantly going out of my way to accommodate for others. It's so hard, I know he will be accepting of my needs and try his best to find a compromise that works for both of us, but I just have such an innate fear of expressing my needs and asking to be accommodated for, so it makes it so so hard for me even if I know the outcome will be positive....

@ActuallyAubrey@void.lgbt not to try to "solve" if you just wanted to vent, but is there space in the cupboard for like, 2 additional plates? More to get through before dishes *must* be done, nobody's asking anything of anyone else, nobody has to change, and if it was ~2 plates per-person before you moved in, it could be easy to say you didn't want to leave them feeling tight on plates <3
