Can I beg a translation or context for an American?
What's the Orange Order? Why are they marching? Who's blocking their march?
What's the context of _loyalist_? Loyal to _whom_?
Thanks in advance! <3

@401matthall@mastodon.xyz Bloomin eck. Ok there is a wee bit of context. Ulster Unionism is the largely Protestant movement that believes the six counties of Northern Ireland, which did not exist as an entity in any form before the 1920s, should be part of the UK. “Loyalism” is generally referring to the working class and/or paramilitary strain of Ulster Unionism. The Orange Order is a Protestant Loyalist anti-Catholic society, imagine the Freemasons with the attitudes of the Ku Klux Klan. (Contd)
