@mattwebbdev@veganism.social "I'm not going to be shitty to people if they're not vegan" = More concerned with the approval of the oppressors than their victims. What exactly would you consider being shitty: telling someone they should stop killing innocent sentient beings? "I'm super feminist I don't abuse women in my personal life but if you want to do physical abuse I'm not going to moralize to you about that" #Vegan #Veganism

@ambiguous_yelp@veganism.social I don't do drama. I do conversations. I'm going to address the 2 things in your post, and I'm hoping we are able to have a respectful conversation after that. If that's not in the cards, I leave the conversation, block, and I move on. 1) When I say I won't be shitty, I say that as a vegan who has helped people start, and settle into their shift into veganism. I did it by not presenting negatives about their choices or beliefs, because that approach has never netted me any success. I believe a fair amount of people want to do what's right, they want to take care of themselves health wise, and they care about more than just themselves. I also believe that they are inundated with so much paid-for influence from propaganda, that they are pretty conditioned by what's been taught as "normal" in terms of their food sources. Also, anyone trying to help our planet as a whole is also being smeared in that propaganda as well; we are all having to go against that level of resistance as one person when talking to people who only know what they heard. I choose to be inclusive, informative, and supportive in my approach. It has worked more than it hasn't. And I will keep doing it, and adjust my approach when necessary. 2) This thing about feminism... what exactly is this about? Have I said something that implies that I am turning a blind eye to physical abuse outside of the people in my life?
