Because we're a year and a half away from needing to pick a candidate who (a) can energize people enough to get them to vote, (b) doesn't have disqualifying baggage (which, IMO, Harris does, and I wish she would drop the hell out now rather than making the same fucking mistake Biden did), and (c) isn't a centrist fuckwit who is just going to try to return to the status quo if they win.
So far I don't see anybody emerging who fits the bill.

@jik@federate.social With the caveat that I will of course vote blue no matter who, I just know that a lot of people are unenthused about Newsom for the reasons you bring up. I'm sure the internal polling reflects that or he would run for sure. Beyond that? IDK, I'm laser focused on the midterms. I hope like hell that somebody eventually runs who has been a real fighter against fascism. Otherwise, since we don't even know who the candidates might be, I don't have any thoughts on 2028 for now. 🤷🏼♀️
