@mancavgeek@social.teamb.space Not just you 🤣 I don’ t have the photo to hand but 15 years ago I remember seeing a 30 footer at an acute angle when the tide went out in a small harbour on the West of Scotland when we got upnin the morning. The owners had slep[t in the pub overnight… No obvious damage done remarkably but my dad did suggest(while trying not to giggle ) that they should get someone to have a proper look at the decking.

  • @Wen@mastodon.scot My mum is from a small fishing village on the Moray Firth, which had 2 harbours - we spent all the summer holidays up there (from Manchester), and the harbours were empty at low tide, with boats tied on long lines. I saw several visitors come in at high tide, and try tying their boats up, only to be laughed at and told not to be stupid by the locals! Ive also seen this on canals here in Manchester - people hiring longboats from the locsl hiring place, tying it up in a lock while trying to go downstream, and getting a shock after travelling less than half a mile at the start of their werk-long holiday!😁
