Authors are aware of this. The only way to maintain full control is via a paywall. 3. Thousands of such compilations have existed for years. If an author objects, just let us know and we’ll take it down. Vague accusations don't work.

It's likely you're incriminating yourself here, both in US and EU law - I know EU law much better, but another user already gave you the US version... You obviously have no explicit permission and can not prove that the content you copied was shared legally in the first place. And even if it's not illegal, it's complete asshole behavior... so, suck it.
