@meluzzy@woof.tech Any recommendations for a chromium based browser? (Brave was my go-to when a website didn't support Firefox - try any video chat, hardly works...)

@meluzzy@woof.tech if you have to use a chrome based browser (as certain sites require these days) there are always forks that aren't outright malware, like cromite or ungoogled-chromium, for those specific sites. But yeah... Brave browser is good at privacy marketing while backstabbing their users in a way familiar to Apple enthusiasts.

@meluzzy@woof.tech I've seen trans people use Brave, and I'm like, "do you need Chrome extensions that badly?"

@tasket@infosec.exchange @meluzzy@woof.tech Maybe cause Chromium doesn't come with enough privacy features by default? idk

@meluzzy@woof.tech I haven’t seen ads on the web since 15 years ago and before that only on websites that I deemed worthy. It’s really not that hard. Privacy Badger, DuckDuckGo, adblockers…

@meluzzy@woof.tech I remember I used brave years ago for its "Privacy" but stopped because of the Crypto shit. Had no idea about all the other wild stuff. Will be sending this post and article to some friends who I know use Brave thank you for sharing this :BlobhajTransPrideHeart:
