1/6 I have a #MathsMonday #FactFriday cross-over event post for you this week 🙂 The #fact is that #Mathematics is universal. We may use different notation in different countries, but the underlying #Maths is the same everywhere. i.e. there is nothing "arbitrary" about #Math I saw someone question if there might be "different" Maths somewhere else in the universe. No. If I have 1 thing, and I get another thing, I now have 2 things. i.e. 1+1=2 (or your country's notation)...

2/6 And there's nothing that can be different about that. Anytime, anywhere, if I have 1 thing, and get another thing, I now have 2 things. i.e. regardless of how we write it, 1+1=2 everywhere in the universe. But what about if Physics was different. What if instead of E=mc² they had E=mc³. Well, the formula itself is different, but that's the formula - the Maths, the underlying rules (like 1+1=2) don't change, it's just a different formula for energy, than what we have...

@SmartmanApps@dotnet.social I've been thinking we should switch to base 12 TBH. Base 10 is awkward and only divides easily into 2 and 5, whereas base 12 would give us 2, 3, 4 and 6! And it's interesting we divide our year and days into 12 already.
