Jesus with the retro slop - yes I know you can point your magical coding buddy at an old game and say “make it for that other old computer” but maybe ask why first.
And yes, this might sound hypocritical from someone who has 30+ ports of his own game, but I do those manually and it’s a new game
Not rehashing someone else’s work (using code stolen from a different group of people)

@jonn_blanchard@retrochat.online Isn't the entire point of making stuff for obsolete computers the "making stuff" part? I feel the same about modern programming, but at least there I can understand the incentives (however perverse) of just shitting out a product then running some ads, but I just don't get the appeal of slop-coding the kinds of projects for which the only incentive for decades has been the love of the game.
